The management plan for the Neolothic site of Çatalhöyük in Turkey was one of the first management plans to be completed in Turkey and helped informed subsequent legislation. The management plan establishes an integrated approach and addresses some of the key issues including access and the fragility of the remains. The site is now on the tentative list for a World Heritage Site nomination. The site management plan (in English or Turkish) can be downloaded from www.catalhoyuk.org |

The Lewes Castle and Barbican House conservation management plan provides Sussex Past with a useful tool for the maintenance and management of a complex historic asset consisting of a Norman castle, later gatehouses and the museum at Barbican House, itself originally a medieval timber framed house. Conservation management plans assist property managers and statutory authorities in the management and care of historic properties. |

In Jordan a country specific manual on how to prepare management plans for archaeological sites where tourism pressures are growing provides a step by step guide to the process and useful tips and best-practice examples. The manual of management planning will be used as part of a training initiative under the Siyaha project and will also provide useful guidance to site managers and others involved in the process of preparing management plans in the region.
